• What I’m Watching: La La Land, a movie I’ve wanted to see for almost a year. I felt a dozen emotions during while watching it. It’s uplifting, wistful, heartbreaking, nostalgic. I didn’t cry, I bawled. Incredible direction by Damien Chazelle. One to watch again and again.

• The alt federal agency Twitter accounts, the first started by the National Park Service, are multiplying. Check out this list over 80 accounts, including the alt-EPA and alt-DoE.

• A recent study found that about 70% of the largest reef in Japan had died from coral bleaching.

• John Hurt passed away this week. The Elephant Man is my favorite movie of all time, and I thank him for bringing his beautiful art into this world.  His obituary and his life in pictures at The Guardian.
