• Photographer I’m Admiring: Joel Sartore, a National Geographic photographer for his Photo Ark series. In the Photo Ark, Joel is committed to documenting every species in captivity in order to raise awareness about conservation. A new book on the project will be released in a couple of days.

• My favorite podcast this week: To continue the theme of Joel Sartore, I enjoyed Terry Gross’ interview with him on Fresh Air.

• What I’m Watching: This TEDTalk by Rachel Hatley on The Litter Letter Project. The Litter Letter Project creates 3D Letter Art created by litter to raise awareness.

• I was sad to hear that Bob Mankoff is stepping down as the cartoon editor of The New Yorker.  But he’ll still be contributing to the magazine and plans to edit a new anthology of cartoons, scheduled for release in 2018. And don’t miss his memoir, How About Never–Is Never Good for You?: My Life in Cartoons.
